davidmooreMeet your host, David Moore

When he was 10 a school friend said that David should be a comedian. Unsure of the quality of the suggestion, or his comedy, David parked that idea for 40 odd years. Sure, during that time he tried out his comedy on unsuspecting audiences; front man for several ska bands, MC for business events, and various other speaking opportunities etc. … all were hijacked for humorous purposes. After spending the last 7 years tickling this fancy in more depth (getting to the state final of RAW Comedy, performing at various comedy events in Hobart), David is now the curator and regular host of FunnieS at Frank’s.

Big name comedians, big laughs

FunnieS kicked off in January 2017 with Dave Callan and roughly every 4 to 6 weeks thereafter we had another big name on the Franklin stage supported by a bevvy of local comedy talent.

Our entertainment to date includes: Dave Thornton, Jeff Green, Claire Hooper, Peter Berner, Rob Quantock, Rachel Berger, Peter Rowsthorn, Bob Franklin, Rusty Berther, Damian Callinan, Simon Palomares, Ivan Aritiguieta, Gavin Baskerville, Richard Stubbs, Lawrence Leung, Anthony Morgan, Elliot Goblet, Stephanie Tisdell, Al Del Bene, Daryl Peebles  as well as many other local favourites and upcoming acts. These shows sell out fast and we’ve got more big names planned for 2019.
